All the talk and the pre-match hype will focus on the usual suspects. But we’re looking at something else. It’s a story yet to be written. A tale of glory and infinite possibility – the making of history.
Borussia Dortmund is ready. The German champions are undefeated this season, playing with confidence and swagger. And off the back of a 3-0 win on the weekend, the team is dying to rattle a few cages this campaign.
Sure they’re in the group of death. But don’t get it twisted. Dortmund has European pedigree. They shocked the world in 1997, winning the tournament and they know what it takes to win the most coveted prize in European football.
Since then they’ve had mixed success. But there is a feeling of change and electricity around the club. With back-to-back German league titles under their belt, this generation of players is taking Dortmund to new heights. They fear no team and have total faith in their ability. Klopp’s free-flowing, attacking brand of football is devastating on the pitch, and with the creative vision and lethal finishing of Marco Reus at the helm, there’s no limit to how far BVB can go.
We’re not saying it will be easy. We’re not saying it’s 100% guaranteed. But what we are saying is that Borussia Dortmund has all the skills to take the throne.
So only one question remains: will the new champions please rise?
