Introducing the King Diego Finale

When Diego Maradona took the 1986 World Cup™ by storm, he wore PUMA boots.

The King Diego Finale iFG hails this epic tournament, taking its design inspiration from the PUMA Mexico Finale boot and bringing it to new life with Maradona branding and Argentina’s colors of sky blue and white.

The PUMA King is the market’s longest serving football concept still in existence today. It brings more than 40 years of performance excellence and continuous product evolution. Its redesign in the 1980s was unparalleled for its time with a construction that followed the foot’s natural movements, providing rigidity in the arch area, and flexibility in the forefoot – a natural support system for Maradona’s quick dribbling.

The new King Diego Finale iFG pays tribute to the past while its technologies look to the future. Its lateral stability inserts, toe overlay, and bead line between the upper and outsole are inspired by preceding PUMA Kings. The round studs, inspired by traditional boots, provide exceptional stability and maneuverability.

The King Diego Finale iFG is significantly lighter than its predecessors, with an outsole made of cutting-edge, lightweight materials to keep down the weight. Other modernized elements include soft K-Leather on the upper, which enhances comfort and ball control. Tight-row stitching in the vamp improves longevity and prevents excessive stretching of the boot materials and is complemented by the snug-fitting PUMA AptoLast.

Afold over tongue with a hook-and-loop creates a cleaner kicking area, while the leather heel tap adds to comfort and reduces pressure on the Achilles tendon. Comfort is further enhanced by the anatomically shaped sockliner with a memory foam insert in the heel.

The boot’s finishing touches include Maradona’s number “10” on the tongue and his signature on the lateral side. The complete King Diego Finale Collection also includes two tee-shirts, a ball, bags, and a track jacket.
