Bharat Khanna and Esha Shah win the Faastest Challenge in India

In a bid to promote the joy of sport and also identify India’s Faastest man and woman, PUMA launched the FAAS TEST challenge in February 2012. Conducted across 7 cities in India, at multiple locations within each city, the challenge witnessed the participation of over 15,000 enthusiastic people from all walks of life.

The nationwide hunt culminated on April 28 – with the faastest men and women from the various city challenges bringing their Faas to Mumbai for the grand finale in an attempt to be crowned Faastest Man / Woman in India and win the prized opportunity to meet Usain Bolt, at the Diamond Meet at Zurich. Setting a blistering pace at 28.2 km/hr was Bharat Khanna from Dehradun, in the male category, while Esha Shah from Bangalore took first place in the female category with 21.0 km/hr. PUMA Fitness ambassador Chitraganda Singh showed her support at the finale and presented the winners their well-deserved awards.

The duration of the pan-India contest saw celebrity entries such as Pankaj Advani, Armaan Ebrahim, Mallika Haydon, Adam Gilchrist, hockey greats like Prabhjot Singh and Gagan Ajit Singh participate. Also, team members of the Deccan Chargers - J.P.Duminy, Daniel Harris, Sunny Sohal, Pankaj Singh and members of Rajasthan Royals – Rahul Dravid, Shaun Tait, Pankaj Singh, Ajinkya Rahane, ran alongside everyday Indians.
