On day seven of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, Eilidh Child of Scotland placed second in the 400m Hurdles.
Child finished in 55.62, behind Muizat Ajok Odumosu of Nigeria, who finished in 55.28. Nickiesha Wilson of Jamaica took third (56.06). Child's silver brings Scotland's medal tally to 15.

"I am just so chuffed I've got a medal," Child told BBC Scotland. "I knew I was capable. But you never know how you are going to perform on the big stage, so I am just glad I came away with something."

Child is having a stellar year. In August, the 23 year old set a new Scottish Record of 55:16 at the Diamond League meeting at Crystal Palace.
