Dinamo Zagreb in 7th Heaven

  • Written on:

Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb certainly had their shooting boots on over the weekend as the reigning champions overpowered NK Varazdin with an impressive 7-0 victory.

The home side took the lead after 17 minutes; following a free flowing move and from then onwards the result never seemed in doubt. Dinamo continued to pour men forward at every opportunity and made their dominance count with a second goal just before the break courtesy of Argentine defender Luis Ibanez.

In the second half Dinamo served up more of the same and scored a quick fire double in just six minutes thanks to Bećiraj and Kovačić. Every time the hosts attacked, a goal seemed a real possibility as they taught the visitors a lesson in finishing. Dinamo again added to their tally on the hour mark and in the last five minutes they fashioned two more goals to make the score 7-0.

The result keeps Dinamo Zagreb top of the league on 22 points from just eight games in what looks like another successful season for Dinamo.
