Mockenhaupt Leads European Runners in NYC

German runner Sabrina Mockenhaupt will compete in the ING NYC Marathon in November.

The 35-time German Champion, Sabrina Mockenhaupt, is planning on competing in the New York City Marathon with the goal of enjoying the race, pressure-free.

While Sabrina was injured with a stress fracture for most of this past winter, she fortunately was able to string together a few some training sessions to add 3-wins to her trophy case: a 5,000m and 10,000m race on the track and a 10k race on the road. She also competed in the 10,000m at the European championships, where she placed 5th and the Olympics, where she placed 17th.

In November, Sabrina plans on trying something she is not so familiar with. She will attempt to forget about the constant pressure she, as a professional athlete, is under and will run without any expectations apart from the one she sets for herself. Earlier this month at the IAAF World Half Marathon in Bulgaria, Sabrina test ran this new mentality and finished in a promising 11th place.

The PUMA Running Team would like to wish Sabrina the best of luck and hope she enjoys herself at the NYC Marathon.
