“CrossFit’s actual definition is ‘constantly varied functional movements done at a high intensity.' It’s changing up the workout; it’s giving you exposure to all sorts of exercises whether its endurance or heavy lifting. It works because it switches every day and your body doesn’t get used to something. Those movements translate into everyday life so with a press, you’re putting something over your head. A squat, you’re getting out of a chair. It’s sticking because you have that community feel of it, too. So it’s these great movements but you’re also doing them with friends. You have someone holding you accountable, you have someone pushing you, and you have a person to talk to you afterward because it becomes a community.”
