PUMA Quartet Up for Ballon d'Or!

  • Written on:

We’re celebrating the news that Sergio Agüero, Cesc Fàbregas and Samuel Eto’o have all been nominated for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award , whilst master tactitian Jürgen Klopp ihas been listed for the Ballon d'Or World Coach of the Year! The ‘Golden Ball’ or simply World Footballer of the Year award is a ‘who’s who’ of the game’s star names and has been won by a glittering array of footballing legends.

After an action packed year full of goals, excitement and glory, here’s the PUMA Football take on our quartet of nominations…

Sergio Agüero
Following some virtuoso performances in Spain, England and further afield, as well as firing his new side to the top of the Premiership, it comes as no surprise to see ‘Kun’ land a nomination. If the Argentine star keeps creating and scoring in his PUMA v1.11s (he’s already bagged 10 goals this season) we strongly suspect he’ll be lifting more than the Ballon d’Or this year.

Cesc Fàbregas
The midfield maestro has enjoyed a momentous 2011! After continually impressing for the Gunners, the Spanish master finally returned to his boyhood heroes this summer after being hotly linked for the last couple of years! Cesc can now be found lighting up La Liga and nonchalantly spraying the ball around the park in his PowerCat v1.12 boots, making him one of the favourites for the Ballon d’Or.

Samuel Eto’o
Africa’s most decorated player has performed his usual goal-grabbing heroics over the past 12 months! But not only had that, after an excellent season banging in the goals in Serie A, Sammy made the move to Russia where he has continued his goal-scoring form for Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala. Wherever Sammy goes, he scores! But will he score the Ballon d’Or?

Jurgen Klopp
Klopp is the charistmatic Borussia Dortmund manager who led his side to Bundesliga glory for the first time sInce 2002. He's used to winning trophies and we think he'll be adding the Ballon d'Or to his sizable trophy cabinet.

Who are you backing to lift the coveted Ballon d’Or?
