Laudehr goal powers Germany into the last eight

PUMA soccer star Simone Laudehr hammered home a 54th minute volley to cement Germany’s place in the Quarter Finals of the Women’s World Cup in Frankfurt with a 1-0 victory over Nigeria last night. In front of a packed arena in Frankfurt, the home nation squeezed past a resilient Nigerian side with a clinical second half finish from Laudehr to settle the tie. Sporting the latest PUMA v1.11 boots, Simone proved fairly tough to catch as she ran away in celebration having sealed the fate of the hard-working Nigerians.

The winner came as a result of a silly challenge conceded by Nigeria on the edge of their eighteen yard box. Célia Okoyino da Mbabi’s resultant free kick was not cleared, yo-yoing around the penalty area before sitting up perfectly for the right boot of Laudehr. The goal sets up a mouth-watering clash between France and Germany in the final game of Group A in Moenchengladbach next Tuesday and will decide who progresses as group winners.

How far do you think the current World Champions can go in this year’s competition?
