Keep your eyes peeled because this evening superstar striker Sergio Aguero will have his eyes on the Carling Cup Final and his feet in a pair of Puma’s new blue colour V1.11 Speed boots.
This new coloured boot will get their first outing across the top European leagues this weekend by PUMA Football’s biggest stars but El Kun is going to be the very first to unleash them on the world and what better opportunity then the chance to use them to fire Manchester City in to their first final of 2012.
City will be travelling to Anfield looking to overturn Liverpool’s 1-0 advantage that was secured in the first leg at Manchester City’s Eastlands Stadium. Anfield is always a tough place to go to and this term is no different; Liverpool haven’t lost at home once in the league.
It’s going to take something special to break Kenny Dalglish’s side down but if there’s one player who can do it, it’s Aguero. It may only be his first season in England, but the Argentine wonderkid is already the Premier League’s top scorer with 17 goals in all competitions. Plus he’s got previous with Liverpool.
At the start of the year, Aguero bagged the first goal in their 3-0 hammering of Kenny Dalglish’s side and he’s confident of doing it again. In an interview with the British press he explains: “Pepe Reina is one of the best keepers in Europe. But I beat him in our 3-0 Premier League win. Now I intend to repeat the feat at Anfield. Playing Liverpool always gives me good memories. When I won the Europa League with Atletico Madrid we had a very emotive semi-final second leg at Anfield, so I have good vibrations about the outcome with City.”
Footballers at every level – from park to Premier League – know that if you’ve scored before against a team it will boost your confidence when you face them again. But Sergio has something extra in his arsenal tonight and that’s the super cool, and extremely light, blue V1.11s. Just a little bit of magic tonight from them and City fans will be singing their anthem Blue Moon with a little bit of extra meaning.
