2011-12 Bundesliga Preview

Today marks the first game of the 2011-12 Bundesliga season, and what better way to kick things off than provide you with a look at how the league’s shaping up this year?!

PUMA sides TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and VfB Stuttgart open their campaigns tomorrow against tough opposition in the form of Hannover and Schalke. Last season saw them finishing mid-table in 11th and 12th place respectively in what was a tumultuous period for both.

Hoffenheim started 2010 brightly with three wins in four as thoughts turned to the possibility of European qualification. Unfortunately, the second half of the season saw several key players sold and disagreements from the top down led to a string of poor results and slight instability.

Stuttgart finished their 2010-2011 campaign on a high with seven wins from eleven games giving them renewed confidence going into the new season. Alongside this success, VfB will be playing their football in a redeveloped stadium with a capacity of 60,000. Let’s hope it inspires the fans and gives them further success this season!

What we can be certain of in the Bundesliga will be a year of excitement with some of the best young talent in European football on show in a league that has seen four different winners crowned in five years.
