The Egyptian marksman has just returned to full fitness and is ready to carry on where he left off so here's 10 essential facts about Zizou.

Mohamed Zidan was born 11 December 1981 in Port Said, Egypt.

He represented Egypt at the 2008 and 2010 African Nations Cups winning both.

His family moved to Denmark where he signed for Akademisk Boldklub after scouts discovered him juggling a ball in the park.

He’s still wildly popular with fans of Danish side FC Midtjylland where he scored 30 goals in 47 games and finished as top scorer in the Danish Superliga in his only season with them.

FC Midtjylland stadium is known locally as the Zidan Stadium after Mo scored nine goals in the first three games held there.

His nickname is ‘Zizou’ like the similar sounding but differently spelt retired French footballer Zinidane Zidane.

When he’s not playing football Zidan likes to ride horses.

Borussia Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp has signed Mo twice. The first time in 2005, then Klopp brought him to the Dortmund in 2008 where the two of them won the German champion last season.

He likes a snazzy haircut sporting PUMA’s ‘love equals football’ design at the 2010 African Cup of Nations.

After spending 10 months out with a torn cruciate knee ligament injury he scored Borussia Dortmund’s first goal of 2012 on his first start of the season.
