Portuguese Navigator

João Pereira is the sort of guy who constantly ups his own game. He debuted in the Portuguese top flight in August 2003 and won the title with Benfica in 2005. In his early years, he played as a midfielder before finding his place as an offensive fullback. Pereira played nearly 200 games in the Portuguese top league and after two great seasons with Lions of Sporting CP he agreed on a move which landed him with Spanish top club Valencia in May 2012. Pereira made his debut as a “Navigator” with the Portuguese National Team in the 2012 European Championship qualifiers. He held his position in the squad and had a great tournament, playing in every game as Portugal made their way to the semi-finals.
