Every year the shoe testing gurus of Runner's World Magazine meet to evaluate the new hits of the running shoe industry. This year, PUMA submitted the Faas 350 S to the rigorous testing of Runner's World. To our delight - though not surprising - the Faas 350 S was voted "Best Debut" by Runner's World United States.

Since the launch of the Faas running shoe range, PUMA has been collecting awards season after season. This season, the Faas 350 S was awarded "Best Debut" by Runner's World US. Counting this award, Faas running shoes have collected more than a handful of awards including multiple "Best New Shoe" awards, a "Editor's Choice" award, and a couple "Best Debut" award.

Here's what Runners' World had to say about the PUMA Faas 350 S:

"Low-slung and responsive, the Faas 350 S is a no-frills training shoe capable of pulling double duty for faster-paced workouts and long runs. The foam rubber midsole is exposed, while only a minimum amount of outsole is used to keep the shoe lightweight and super flexible. One drawback: limited traction. Wear-testers said the 350 S slips on wet surfaces.

Faster runners appreciated how the shoe performed. "The Faas 350 would be among my choices if I were to buy only one shoe for everyday training," says Ulrich Fluhme, 37, of New York City, who has a 2:33 marathon PR and primarily trains in racing flats."

Bottom Line: A good first step for those curious about trying minimal footwear.
