Ryan Godfrey

Yes, Ryan Godfrey is rugged. But he stills needs decent sleep and lip balm.

“There’s nothing better than coming ashore and sleeping.”

He speaks from experience, suffering plenty of sleepless nights and chapped lips in his sailing days. Godfrey joins the PUMA Ocean Racing team after a 2008-09 Volvo Ocean Race win with Ericsson 4, where he was part of their 24 hour monohull speed record. In addition to his Volvo experience, Ryan's sailing resume includes numerous offshore miles, an America's Cup campaign and Louis Vuitton Series.  He rounds out PUMA's under-30 crew and will work closely with Tony Mutter and PUMA's sail program.

For the record, Godfrey has never read ‘Moby Dick’ and does not believe that a giant whale will swallow il mostro whole. He also hates talking about himself.
