Luke McLean

Lean, Mean McLean

Australian by birth, with an Italian grandmother, Luke was one of the strengths of the three-quarter line of Calvisano in the 2007/2008 season, which ended with the victory of the Super 10 for gialloneri the province of Brescia. His technical and tactical ability and skill in the game turned to the foot and Nick Mallett called him for the 2008 tour to South Africa and Argentina, focusing him as the median opening, a role that has preserved - disputing some great games - in the second part of 6 Nations 2009. In the 2009 summer tour, with Gower as the number ten jersey, he has been moved to the role he preferred, as extreme, confirming the high balls safe and able to revive Italy's action in the attack. Unforgettable was his individual initiative against Samoa in November 2009, with a slalom in the opponent's defense ended with a touche beyond the scoring line. Mallett has deployed the holder with the number fifteen jersey for all 2010, while in the Magners League with Benetton Treviso, he has occupied the position of wing and fly-half as well.
