Mr. Reliable

Bacary Sagna has plenty of interests: chess, geography, wine, tennis. If he hadn’t become a footballer, he may have been an architect. But Sagna, a French defender, has made a name for himself as Mr. Reliable: a fan favorite who consistently brings his best (and those signature braids) to the pitch. Sagna began his career in France at AJ Auxerre when he was 14. He played more than 100 games for the first team and won the French Cup in 2005. The 2006-2007 season was an especially high point for him as he was awarded AJ Auxerre’s Player of the Season, France's best right-sided defender, and was part of the Ligue 1 Team of the Year. The following season he joined Arsenal FC, where he has since showcased his talents and helped the team reach the 2011 League Cup final. He is currently one of the best right-sided defenders in the Premier League; he won this award in 2008 and 2011.
