"Brew was an asset to the Dragons during the 2006–2007 season, making a staggering 31 appearances and scoring a highly impressive 16 tries; he also finished as joint top try-scorer in the European Challenge Cup. Brew made his debut in a pre-season friendly in August 2006, against the Gwent Premiership Select XV (made up of key players from Gwent’s Principality Premiership players), and led the Dragons’ 10-try annihilation by touching down a hat-trick of tries.

Brew has represented Wales at U16, U18 and U21 levels, as well as appearing in the Wales Sevens. He was called into Wales's squad for the 2007 RBS Six Nations, making his senior debut as a replacement in the match against Ireland. Brew was also named as part of Gareth Jenkins's squad for the two-Test tour of Australia in May 2007; he gained his second Welsh cap in the second Test defeat in Brisbane.
